2018
Between the months of March and August of 2018 was a time of difficult transitions and perpetual development. It was during this period where one finds out that friends become foes, mentors become your oppositions, and the world will sit in the front row to see you fail. Let's just call this my redemption season. Whether I liked it or not I needed this more than anything.
Besides doing errands for a family member I need something to keep me occupied. Thankfully, I was put on academic dismissal which gave me time to think critically. In a white crate I pulled out all my journal's that were completed. On one of my email accounts I had a Blogger profile that wasn't completed yet. A cousin of mine (Sonovia Harmon) pushed me into doing it.
To start things off I picked up my fifth journal titled You Ain't Gotta Lie. Due to the fact that the first eight essays were previously written the groundwork was an easy route. In all actuality I wrote The Masquerade first, but decided to make it my second blog series. As we all know the rest is history.
Whenever I create a blog series I often think about how I would make arguments in my classes at BMCC. During this time period I had professors amazed that a young black man could have such a diverse outlook of the world and his society at large. If you ask me it now I'll say that I'm doing the same thing as we speak. The only difference is that I'm on a more global scale. From Portugal, Ukraine, India, to The Philippines love (and viewership) has been shown.
Lately I've been thinking about contacting a publishing company. I don't want to write a book like Between The World And Me, but something close to it. This is all I have at the moment, and I'm happy with what I got. If you don't get anything out of my blog series' I recommend that you do anything that makes you feel joyous and alive. Before my ink runs dry all I have to say is peace.
